Engagement Pictures

So James is in Omaha for the summer doing summer sales. He gets to come home every other weekend. It makes planning a wedding kind of crazy but we are making it work. James flew in and we had to rush to Gateway to get him an outfit and finished getting me my last few things, drove home, got ready as fast as we could, picked up our photographer, drove and tried to look composed for pictures. It was a crazy day but I am happy with the way the pictures turned out. I have decided though that it is hard to look all romantic in front of a camera. Devin Graham was our photographer. He is a good friend of James. He did an amazing job. Here are just a few.

We're Engaged!

James and I are engaged! May 19, 2010 James popped the question. Well here's the story... The morning started bright and beautiful. I got ready and decided it was a day to make a nice dinner. James came over and as I figured out what I needed for dinner, James called my mom and asked her for the poppyseed bunt cake recipe. We went to the grocery store came home and I started dinner as James left to a "meeting up at school." He came back and we hung out and then he said he had "another meeting." I should have guessed it was coming but he fooled me. All those meetings were him picking up the ring and setting up. He called me and said hey get ready and lets go read by the Jordan River in Provo. Here's the back story to the River... We went on a walk by the Jordan River earlier in the year and there is a rope swing over the river and I convinced James to get on it and I couldn't pull him back to the side and so he hung there over the Jordan River as I laughed hysterically. He finally just had to fall into the freezing cold water and swim back to the side. We walked back to the car with him dripping wet. Anyways so on that Wednesday evening we went for a walk along the Jordan River. We stopped at the rope swing and there was a blanket with sparkling cider, glasses, chocolate covered strawberries, and rose petals. He got down on one knee and said, "This is where I fell for you literally," along with other cute things and proposed. The ring was breath taking. It was the perfect day. We came back and had our dinner. I am so excited. He is everything I ever wanted.
